Priority Species and Habitats

The governance bodies are especially committed to restore and protect the species and habitats of significance for the World Heritage site in the long term, defined in close cooperation with local experts. The selected species include the Southern Alpine Tulip, Rudolph’s Tayloria moss, the Swiss Ephedra as well as the Provençal Fritillary. The dry meadows and pastures are important but endangered habitats, which will be therefore included in the support programmes for restoration.
