Monitoring<\/h1>\n

Monitoring of the territory is a central goal of the Foundation. It allows for the long-term observation of changes within the World Heritage Site and their influence on the site’s values.<\/p>\n

A concept for area monitoring was developed in cooperation with the \u00abCentre for Development and Environment (CDE)\u00bb of the University of Bern. Continuous or periodic collection and analysis of key indicators in the World Heritage region reflect the status and development of the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV). The findings from monitoring form the basis for early detection of problems or threats, the development of measures, as well as raising public awareness of specific topics or issues.<\/p>\n
